| The sealing wax, probably from the old India over the Spaniards to Europe brought, was already in the Middle Ages with us in use, e.g. for locking letters, documents and documents, in addition, containers, crates etc.. The seals were usually used as Monogramme and symbols and were only certain persons to open (to break) permitted.. |

Good sealing wax consists of a mixture of different noble resins, ethereal vegetable oils, purifies kinds of chalk, and mineral pigment colors, which are probably brought to the melt and poured into metallic forms. In the further still polished, "polished" (in the fire) and they keep well-known bar form which can be seen down marked. |
