This motif is from the series of the so-called Tarot cards of Andrea Mantegna, 1370 -1410. They were made by copperplate engraving in the Venetian region. These are representations of the planets (there were 7 at that time), here the planet sun. A delicate arc line visualizes the orbits of the spheres on which the planets circle around the earth in the center. The sequence of images is divided into 5 groups of 10 motifs each.
