Thinking monkey in front of skull sitting on stack of books

♥ Statue of a monkey with skull, a replica to Wolfgang Hugo Rheinhold. Original excited this bronze figure at the great Berlin art exhibition in 1893 great attention. The sculpture shows a chimpanzee sitting on a pile of books and looking at a human skull. He holds it in his right hand, the left one in a thoughtful pose to his chin. The monkey looks curious, questioning and studying towards the skull.
