This is a model of the fabulous Riva Aquarama series, a sleek motorboat from the 1950s. In those years dreams were big, simple and very effective!
The Riva shipyard was founded in 1842 by Pietro Riva in Sarnico on Lake Iseo. In classic Riva boats, the elegant hull was made of wood with seamless, deep red mahogany planking. A strong inboard engine with penetrating deep sound propelled the boats. Lots of chrome, panoramic windows, a classic dashboard with white steering wheel, white leather armchairs and behind them an upholstered berth and a slim tapered stern were classic design features. It is estimated that about 4000 rivaboats were built and that about half of them still exist today.
